Been for another midwife appointment and all's going OK. I'm booked in for a home birth, as long as we're still in Sheffield (Not much chance of us getting to Derby before D-day now), which was a lot easier this time round than when I was pregnant with Imogen. ("Excellent" was the word I heard from the midwife when I told her that's what I wanted!)
I am starting to fall apart a bit though. I've got Carpel Tunnel Syndrome which started after I had Imogen. I was just in the right hand, and wasn't too bad. But now it's in both hands, and can get bad on some nights. My back and pelvis aren't doing too well either - it's been getting worse over the last couple of weeks, so now I'm pretty much aching all the time. She referred me to the physios to try and sort all three problems out - or at least make them manageable!
Baby's heart rate was fine, and my blood pressure was OK too. Unsurprisingly for me, I'm measuring large! Not much they do about it unless they suspect it's because of excess fluid or diabetes, so it's just a case of keeping an eye on things at the moment. If it's because the baby's big, then I just have to hope the labour's OK!
The last few weeks have been hard - the realisation that we're not very likely to get to Derby before the baby's born, Imogen moving into a "big bed" and not sleeping particularly well, long days when Dave's got to commute down to Derby. At the end of last week every little thing seemed to upset me, but I'm feeling better now - the beginnings of the week tend to be easier than then ends. At least I can identify the triggers, so it's not something that's unexplainable. It's just hard to deal with at times.
I can not believe it ! But it's true
