Spreading the good news!

We've decided to tell a few people - parents & siblings really - now and not wait until the scan (which is booked for 20th October). I'm feeling so tired and not getting much done at home around the house so the move plans are getting delayed - and it was easier to tell people the real reason. I told my Mum and Dad earlier (Molly and Charlie are saying with them for the weekend, so they know too, although S&R don't yet!) and then phoned Al. Dave's going to phone his family this evening. Everyone else can wait!

On a slightly different note, when I was sitting with Imogen in her room at bedtime, she said "baby", so I told her - again - that it was in Mummy's tummy. I asked her if she wanted to give it a kiss - so she lifted my t-shirt and kissed my tummy. She doesn't understand at all, but it was very cute!

Smelly horrible things

My nose seems to have gone into overdrive. Everything smells far more that it should - the other day all I could smell in the kitchen was garlic, this morning Imogen's nappy made me wretch and Buster really needs a bath! It's not helping my nausea at all!

Migraines

Hopefully it's not a sign of things to come - but I've had three migraines since finding out I'm pregnant. I hadn't had one for a few months before that, so I'm not really liking this change. Hopefully things will settle down - both in terms of the pregnancy and other stresses (moving house etc) - and the migraines will disappear (or even reduce in frequency) again.

Same as last time!

It's just like when I was pregnant with Imogen. I'm tired all the time and feeling pretty nauseous (but havne't actually been sick yet) mainly first thing in the morning, but with another wave early afternoon. The only difference this time is that I have a toddler to tire me out as well as the pregnancy!

Doctor

I've just got back from the doctor - just an appointment to tell her I'm pregnant so I get into the system for midwives/scans etc. She confirmed that I'd calculated the due date right - 5th May - and checked my blood pressure. And that was it!

After the midwive hassle with Imogen I've been wondering whether to just speak to Wendy or Dawn directly and not bother with the local midwife, but two things are stopping me at the moment - first, it's not the horrible one from last time as she's now left, and second, we'll probably/hopefully not be here when this one's born, so the key midwife will be the one down in Derby (and convincing them that a home birth on a boat could be interesting, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it!)
